….seeing hollywood celebs in African print or African-inspired designs is nothing new to us. StyleMeNaija brought you Ankara at the Emmys; so we had to go find the creative person behind these designs. And she’s Sister Maya Lake of Boxing Kitten designs-an American designer with a love of things African. Check her out. She’s also responsible for designs we’ve seen on Fergie, Erykah Badu, and other celebs.

You’ll also see Boxing Kitten on Ms Rihanna in the Rude Boy vid.

Vlisco is launching their new ad campaign, first for 2010, and as usual we KNOW we won’t be disappointed….

‘TABLEAU VIVANT’: THE ART OF ECCENTRIC IMPRESSIONS

The first fabric collection of 2010 is inspired by unexpected combinations. Dreamlike scenery unites heritage and sophistication. You are taken unawares, caught in a landscape of patterns. The assemblage of designs appears random, yet produces the ultimate ‘Tableau Vivant’ sensation. A collection of contemporary designs dominated by graphic lines and clustered ornaments, with each individual design holding a remarkable treasure of its own, arousing your curiosity with extraordinary impressions.

Check out this video for their works in the past….
